DILIGENCE AND JELLO!
My people! HOW ARE
YOU???
This week was quite the
week.
Sister Dimond and I had
to give a full on training to the mission. We had to sit on the stand and
everything, it was so hilarious. We kept on saying " what in the world are
we doing?", they picked the biggest noobs to do this. But it actually
turned out super well. The training was a bit of a "throw down" for a
lack of better words but the point got across and a lot of people told us that
it really helped them realize a lot of things.
Sister Dimond and I are
also now at the point in our companionship where we legit think the same things
and can 100% read each others minds. It’s a beautiful thing.
Thanksgiving was
AWESOME. We got to go around and visit a few of our recent converts and then we
ate dinner with our entire district at the Lopez's house. It felt just like
family. The Lopez's are incredible. They made a huge dinner and we all had so
much fun together. It was a blast. Ill be sure to send some pictures. Also
Sister Dimond and I were talking about our family thanksgivings and what food
we usually eat and apparently she eats Pretzel Jello too! Nobody ever knows
what that is so we decided that we needed to make it. It went decently well
ahhaha but we were just so excited to bring something to the dinner. I’ll be
sure to send a lot of pictures!
I also got to go on a
full day exchange with my trainee, Sister Isham! It was such a blast. She is
such a powerhouse missionary. I just love her so much.
To be completely honest,
this week in regards to missionary work was really hard. We spent the whole
week working so hard but found no success until the very last minute. I feel
like the lord was really just teaching us about diligence. We went into Sunday
with absolutely no one really progressing. But we still had really high faith
and I think that was the key. A really hilarious older woman showed up to
church and then later that night after everything fell through we went to
knocking and after an hour or so of absolutely nothing, the last two doors
invited us right in and we found some really awesome people. We ended our night
visiting a potential we found earlier that week and it turned out that they
were super cool too. Our "success" this week was found in the last
1.5 hour of the night. It was a struggle but such an awesome lesson to the both
of us.
I don't have a whole lot
of time but i just wanted to end my email with two scriptures about the
importance of diligence. The first is found in 2 Peter 3:14 "14 Wherefore,
beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be
found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless." and also in D&C
88:63-64 "63 Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me
diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall
be opened unto you 64 Whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name it shall be
given unto you, that is expedient for you" The part that stuck out to me
the most was just the fact that is never once says the amount that you need to
"knock" or "seek" or "look", the lord doesn't
give us a limit of how diligent we need to be to "find peace in him".
He asks us to do it until we receive it. I feel he does that because he is
well aware of how much we learn in the process of diligently seeking.
I love you all so very
much. Thank you for being so awesome and for your love and support. I am sure
thankful for you. I pray for you all each day. Have a great week!!!
