FEBRUARY 20, 2017

HOLA FAMILIA!!!

This week was super great. We found a lot of new Cubans to teach and saw a lot of miracles. This is also probably the last week that I will be with Sis. Healy, so we are living it up hard core. It has been so fun!
Honestly, this week went by SO fast that I am not really sure exactly what happened. I did go on an exchange with Sis. Root though, she is one of the funniest people I have ever met so that day was so funny. She works in the English ward so we taught some really funny African American people and met a whole bunch of super cool people.
Ill send some pictures.
My spiritual thought this week comes from Mosiah 4:11, It reads "And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of God, or if ye have known of his goodness and have tasted of his love, and have received a remission of your sins, which causeth such exceedingly great joy in your souls, even so I would that ye should remember, and always retain in remembrance the greatness of God, and your own nothingness, and his goodness and long-suffering towards you, unworthy creatures, and humble yourselves even in the depths of humility, calling on the name of the Lord daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken by the mouth of the angel."
I love this scripture. We have been given the ultimate gift from our Heavenly Father of his son Jesus Christ, and because of him we can experience true joy. But in that joy, we need to continually remain humble. Continually turning our gratitude to the Lord and remember the reason for our joy, the "greatness of God" and how truly unworthy we are.
I love you all, so sorry this email was really short, I don’t have a lot of time this week. Thank you for all that you do for me! I pray for you every night. Talk to you next week!!

FEBRUARY 13, 2017

THE NEWEST MEMBER OF LA IGLESIA DE JESUCRISTO DE LOS SANTOS DE LOS ULTIMOS DIAS!

FAMILY!! AND MY FRIENDS!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

This week was so great! And I am officially exhausted, probably going to sleep all day today. But that's just part of the mission life I guess. ITS AWESOME! WOO!!

First off, PAULA GOT BAPTIZED!!! I love her!! She has been the most challenging investigator for me but I have learned so much from my experience teaching her. Her baptism on Saturday was so beautiful, the spirit was so strong. It was one of the happiest days of my mission so far. Ill attach some pictures!

Also, we are teaching a super cool man named Juan. Juan is a Dominican and has only been here for a few months. When he was in the Dominican Republic he was a hard-core gangster but he always respected the "Men in the white shirts". He has so many sincere questions about the church and loved the service on Sunday. He has absolutely been prepared to receive this gospel. He is set to be baptized on the 25th of this month and we are excited to prepare him for this date.

I don't really have a lot of time this week but I just want to share a quick little V-day scripture with you all. Our Savior and Redeemer is the ultimate example of how we should truly love. He does everything because of his deep love for each one of us individually. This scripture emulates that. Its found in 2 Nephi 26:24, it reads " He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation".

I am so thankful for the love of our savior. My mission has changed the way I understand true charity and I am so grateful for that. I sincerely do love each and everyone of you. I pray for you every day. Thank you for everything. Talk to you next week!

Con Amor,

VAPE NATION....

Hola Familia!

This week was so awesome! Loving life so much! Sister Healy is still my best friend and we are still having so much fun and working our butts off!

Paula is solid and all ready for her baptism this weekend! She is still sassy as ever but I still love her a lot, even when she tells me that I suck at Spanish. I can’t wait for all of you guys to meet her when I come back to Florida after my mission, you will know what I'm talking about when you meet her. She’s awesome.

Right now, we are also teaching this older woman se llama, Eugenia. She is so sweet and has the most honest desires to follow Jesus Christ. She is so awesome. I have really learned patience with her. It’s been such a blessing. She is all ready for baptism, but she has to stop Vaping first...yeah... it’s rough. Oh! funny story, we were explaining to her the concept of fasting for strength from God in our trials. We told her that this Sunday we are going too fast for her to receive the strength to quit smoking. She looked at us, wide-eyed, and yelled "SON LOCAS!" we just started laughing so hard, she continued to yell at us that we were going to DIE! It was so funny!

This week I felt like a south American missionary. We found a lot. It was awesome. Its still crazy trying to balance everything but Hna. Healy and I are figuring it out.

I love you guys all so much! My spiritual though comes from D&C 29:34 dice " 34 Wherefore, verily I say unto you that all things unto me are spiritual, and not at any time have I given unto you a law which was temporal; neither any man, nor the children of men; neither Adam, your father, whom I created."

Everything to the Lord is Spiritual. Every trial that we endure has spiritual roots. We can learn and grow from everything. The lord gave us commandments to help us grow and become the people that he knows we can become.

I love you ALL! so very much! Thank you for being my support system. I cannot express how thankful I am for you all! I pray for you all every single day. Till next week!!

SIS. HEALY PRAYED FOR OPPORTUNITIES TO EXERCISE PATIENCE.....

HOLA!!! como le va? ustedes son los mejores!
All is well here in Florida! I seriously love life so much! Hna. Healy and I are working so hard and seeing a lot of success, which is always nice! We have seen a lot of faith-filled miracles. (but I'm really bad at journal writing so I have forgotten a lot of them)...sorry...
This week we had a bike day and I don't think I have ever smiled so much! there is something so satisfying about bike days. I love them so much! and so does Hna. Healy, and if our area wasn't so huge, we would probably bike everyday.
Oh! Paula is back!!! she was the woman that Hna. Leslie and I were teaching back in December. I felt impressed to call and invite her to the baptism that the elders in our ward had for their convert, Rosa and she came! She then continued to tell me how she was so mad that we stopped teaching her. Apparently she has been going to another ward for the last month, and pretty much wants to get baptized next month. I am so excited because honestly she is one of my favorite people ever! (also, EXTREMELY sassy).. so sometimes its rough ahah. We have another lesson with her tonight and we are super excited! Shes also going to teach me how to make some Latin food because she said that's the only way "you're going to find a man"....thanks Paula...
Also, we have seen so many miracles in one single neighborhood, which is so weird because our area is so huge. We have 12 investigators right now and pretty much all of them are in the same exact neighborhood and the crazy thing is that I have knocked that neighborhood so many times before and never seen any success. All in the Lords time I guess. Oh and ALL of them are Cuban. Its so great. Ive started saying random words in a Cuban accent.
That's all I have time for today, but I love you all so very much!! Thank you for all of your love and prayers. Keep being amazing! I pray for you all every day!! Talk to you next week! The church is so true!!!
